2008 Outstanding Member of the Year
Kaye grew up in the senior health care industry. When she was 5, her parents purchased a nursing home and they lived next door to the 32 bed sheltered care facility. After the facility was closed in 1975 due to new state regulations with life safety codes, Kaye followed Mom’s path to a newly built nursing home in Toluca, IL. Kaye worked in every department so she could learn from the best (especially from Mom) and in 1985 she attained her Nursing Home Administrators license. She was transferred by ownership to her present position at Brandon Wood Retirement Center in Morton, IL. Brandon Wood is a senior retirement facility featuring 69 independent living apartments with a full package of services and amenities. She is an active member of the Tazewell Country Triad board and the Heart of Illinois Region of Continuity of Care board. In addition to her recognition as IL Continuity of Care’s Outstanding Member of the Year in 2008, she received the Co-Presidents Award from the Illinois Nursing Home Administrators Association in October 2008, an award given in honor of dedication and service as a board member of INHAA. Kaye’s mission in life is to provide services to seniors that will enhance their quality of life. Her Mom has been her driving force and together they set up (with the assistance of Home Bound Healthcare) flu shot clinics in the rural areas. On February 5, 2009, another dream came true when they opened the Washburn Area Senior Center together. Kaye resides in Washburn, IL with her husband, 2 children and 1 grandson. She treasures the time spent with her family and they enjoy camping, boating and jet skiing.
